Upgrading your gun with all the bells and whistles can get pretty expensive. I try and do as much as I can to keep the cost down. But if you are uncomfortable doing these types of modifications, you should get a qualified gunsmith to do the work. Messing with the safety features of your gun or trigger can lead to accidents. In this video I show you how I did it. I might have missed a few procedures or did something out of order. However, the end result is a safe gun to shoot that I have no fears about. Jim Clark Custom Gold Cup 1911 45ACP

I had the pleasure of running across a Jim Clark Custom 45ACP a while back.  If you're not familiar with Jim Clark, he was an old school gun smith that was fine tuning surplus GI 1911's well before Ed Brown and Bill Wilson came onto the scene.  Below are a few photos of this gun and the craftsmanship that went into it.

The trigger has had some metal added to help reduce the take up.

2012 Texas Single Stack Championship Videos

The Single Stack Championships followed strict rules where only single stack 1911 pistols could be used. All magazines were to only hold 8 rounds which means I was unable to use my 10 round mags and download them to 8. All mag pouches on your belt had to be worn on the side or behind you... not like in USPSA or IPSC where you can have mag pouches on the front of your body. Plus your holster had to be worn on the side or behind you. If you notice in these videos I am using a simple leather loop style holster. I was planning on using my Blade Tech DOH holster but the drop-offset was illegal per single stack rules. This was a great match and once I figured out I had a "sticky" magazine that would not drop free, my match ran much smoother.
