Formatting Hard Drives with Steel Core Penatrator

I recently had the task of formatting some hard drives from my work. I got tired of doing the software method and decided to pack up the drives and take them to the range to see what my AR15 could do with some SS109 ammo. The 556 ammo proved to do just fine with my 3-Gun AR15 and it speed up the formatting process exponentially.

Pot Shots "Gun Photos From The Restroom" - What Do You Carry?

We've all had to answer the call of nature while carrying a weapon. But what do you do with your pistol when you are in a public restroom? Do you drop it to the floor for anyone to see? (In the US the walls of the toilet stalls do not go to the floor) I prefer the paper dispenser or handicap rail for support in the this matter. But more importantly... what are you carrying when this happens? Take a picture of your self defense weapon and post it on my FaceBook Wall or Google+ page with a few details of why you carry what you carry.

100 Round Mag Dump with the Bumpfire Stock

Here's a quick way to burn through some cash. How much did you pay for 100 rounds of 556? I'm using the Slide Fire Bump Fire Stock and a Korean KCI 100 drum magazine. I found this setup to run best using brass cased ammo and not the steel Wolf type ammo. Be aware that shooting your rifle like this can get expensive both in ammo and replacing parts on your gun as you break stuff. Stay tuned for the full review of the bumpfire stock. There are things you NEED to know about this if you plan to buy one.

Chiappa M9 22LR Pistol (Barrel Shot Out ?)

Its been about 8 months since I bought the Chiappa M9 22 replica of the Beretta M9 (92fs). I honestly have not shot tons of rounds through this gun like most of my others. But something happened to me the other weekend while shooting the M9 22. A blast of particles came back into my face. I figured it was just crappy ammo and that the slide had not closed all the way. Then it happened again. I began to look at my brass that was ejected and noticed a massive bulge near the base and a couple that had actually cracked. It appears that the bottom side of the chamber has swelled or something. Needless to say this gun will be going back to the manufacturer for repair. I hope they can fix this.  I really think this gun is a nice training tool for my real Beretta 92F. I'll keep you informed how it goes.

Update 2-5-2013:

Here is my letter to Chiappa....

Let me just start of by saying that Chiappa's track record with me is not good. This is the second product I have bought from Chiappa and it has been defective. Its sad since Chiappa appears to have some really nice looking guns. The 1st time I purchased from Chiappa it was a couple of M4 22LR rifle magazines and they did not work, they appeared used, and one even had "BAD" written on the side of it with a permanent marker. To Chiappa's credit they were replaced quickly with new magazines. My second purchase from Chiappa is the M9-22 S/N xxxxxxxx. This pistol apparently has an issue with the chamber and the brass swells upon ignition and in some cases cracks and blows back pieces of brass and powder residue into the shooters face. I sent the pistol back to Chiappa with spent brass casings so the technician could see it 1st hand ( RMA# was xxxx). I received my M9-22 last week with a letter saying there was a bur on the feeding ramps and that it was removed. I do not believe the pistol was test fired after it was deburred and sent back to me. I shot the pistol with 10 rounds and they all exhibited the same issue with bulged cases.

This gun is unsafe. What can be done to resolve this issue?

Shooting the Browning 1919 Machinegun

On one of our recent outings, one of the guys brought along a nice piece of history. A Browning 1919 machine gun. This particular gun was only semi auto to comply with government restrictions on the subjects of our country. The trigger on the Browning has to be lifted upward in order to make it fire. Unlike traditional triggers where they are pulled to the rear. This upward movement and the fact that it was a very stiff trigger, made shooting the gun quite difficult.

Shooting the Chrono!

Shooting the chronograph means checking your bullet velocity. However, in some rare cases it actually involves "shooting the chronograph". Typically by accident. The accident had already happened off of camera so we decided to blast it one more time since its usefulness had expired. Oh well,,, I got a new chronographout of the deal :)

Pinned AR15 Front Sight Removal & Free Float Tube Install Instructions

Upgrading your AR15 to a free float forearm is one of the most common modifications shooters do. However, removing those pesky taper pins on the gas block can be a task. In this two part video series I'll show you how to change out the gas block and install a Seekins Precision Free Float Tube with minimal tools. My goal in these videos is to help the non professional so that they can do the modifications themselves. The only "specialized" tools I used were the AR-15 Armorer's Combo Wrench Tool, a Brass Punch Kit, and a barrel vise similar to the one below.

GSG & Sig 1911 22LR Replacement Parts & Upgrades

The ShockBottle +3 Basepads are here! With this second generation anodized aluminum basepad, you can get 13 rounds in your factory GSG or Sig Sauer 1911 22 pistol.

Replace the factory follower with a +4 follower and together with the +3 basepad, you will get a total of 16 rounds in the magazine and 1 in the chamber. That's a total of 17 rounds in the gun!

ShockBottle +2 Basepads give 2 extra rounds of added capacity to your factory GSG or Sig Sauer 1911 22LR magazine. Simply remove the plastic Basepad that came with your magazine and insert the new aluminum Basepad. These replacement Basepads also give a little extra length to the magazine making them easier to seat in the pistol. Not too mention they are much more durable than the factory plastic ones which are easily broken.

With the Shockbottle +2 Basepad and the +4 Follower, you get a total of 15 rounds in the magazine.

Due to US restrictions I can only ship to US addresses. Sorry for the inconvenience.
