Making sure you have the correct weight recoil spring in your gun is going to make a difference on how it handles when performing double taps. Too heavy a spring will cause the muzzle to "nose dive" and take longer for you to recover the sight picture before you can shoot again. Too light a spring can cause damage to your pistol. In the video below you can see high speed footage with various spring weights so you can see how they perform.
Tuning your 1911 or 2011 style pistol with the proper recoil spring weight for your loads will help improve your shooting performance. Unsure what weight to get? The Calibration Spring Pack is an economical way to find the weight that performs best for your loads. All springs listed below are for the 5 inch Government Model pistols and Glock Gen3 17/17L, 22, 24, 31, 34, 35 Visit Taylor-Tactical-Supply for more spring weight options. Our Glock Calibration Kit is designed to replace your factory recoil system.

Primary Arms 1-6X Scope, Fool Proof Scope for the AR15 "With a Budget Price Tag"
I got a new scope for Christmas 2013. Unfortunately the illumination lasted less than 30 shots. Not sure what the issue is but with a new battery installed, it still failed to turn on. It has been sent back to Primary Arms for an exchange but as of today April 2014, they are currently out of stock. So I put my Bresser back on my AR15 rifle for the Texas Multigun this month.

CONS:
Aside from the illumination quitting... I did notice some distortion in the scope with some fish eye effect. Also, the 1x setting is very close to 1x but with the distortion it is not as clear as my Bresser that functions like a red dot scope on 1X. Another quirk I ran into was the eyepiece adjustment for getting the reticule in focus for the shooter. The eye-bell / focus for the scope appears to be somewhat loose and allows for the reticule to wiggle inside the scope. This can possibly change the point of impact. I hope my sample was just a bad apple and not representative of this scope.
PROS:
I found this reticule very easy to use. I was able to consistently hit my targets out to 400 yards with little effort other than trigger control. Once I receive my replacement, I will work on farther distances. I am keeping my fingers crossed for my replacement to be much better because I really like this ACSS reticule and the over all price point of the scope.

IPSC Modified Pistol for Competition
Here is a quick look at an IPSC pistol for the "Modified" division. This particular pistol was designed and built by Shred2DotNet and Dawson Precision.
This gun was used by Shred2DotNet at the 2011 IPSC World Shoot in Rhodes Hellas Greece. If you receive a copy of Front Sight Magazine (the publication for USPSA members) you will see Shred shooting this pistol in the article about the world shoot.
Notes from Shred:
Hi everybody, here are a few more trick features on the gun
-- The bolts holding the scope and the nub on the blast shield act as a backup iron sight for quick location of the dot in odd positions
-- The custom scope mount has a groove that lowers the sight and lets me drop in a pre-sighted spare (this is important with the STS)
-- The frame weights up front are tungsten-- heavier than lead
-- The XX on the basepad grip surface means the mag holds 20 rounds
Oh yeah. Me & the gun placed #15 at the 2011 World Shoot and a few weeks later won the 2011 US IPSC Nationals.

Zeroing my new Scope for 3-Gun
I picked up a Primary Arms 1-6X Scope with ACSS Reticle "Advanced Combined Sighting System". I found this reticle to be very easy to use so far. The grouping I achieved in this picture is outstanding in my opinion. However, I did miss the target completely for 1 of my 8 shots fired. But for my 16" rifle, I like it.
Here is a link to the reticle:

2013 Double Tap Championships First Person Shooter Videos
The 2013 Double Tap Championships in Wichita Falls Texas was 13 stages of pure adrenaline. The 2013 match had the theme for Men In Black, MIB. So all of the stages had something to do with the movie series. This is one my most favorite matches to shoot where speed really pays off if you can turn it up. Its also one of the more difficult matches to film due to the barricades and stage variety. So in this series of videos below I have broken them down into the First Person Shooter view or FPS, (this is the view that I see as I shoot). If you watch the videos on Youtube, you will be allowed to click on the links near the end of the video and see the "behind the scenes" detail with stage breakdown and scoring. So be sure and watch the videos to the end.

Beta Mag C-MAG 100 Round Drum Magazine From KCI - Review, Disassembly & Cleaning
Tossing Rounds down range is easier than ever with this Korean Beta Mag knock off from KCI. I found my KCI magazine to run very well with standard brass cased 55 grain ammo. However, running 62g or larger ammo, I found that the dual drum appears not have enough internal space to accommodate the longer round of the heavier bullets. The longer rounds tend to rub the front of the magazine and cause the magazine to jam. All in all, if you are looking for a drum magazine and do not have the cash to drop on the C-Mag. The KCI might be a nice option at about 1/3 the price tag.
