9x25mm Dillon STI Pistol Review - Holy Crap!

I recently got the opportunity to shoot a 9x25mm custom STI pistol. This gun is crazy! The flames from this gun are almost as big as the Desert Eagle 50AE that I posted earlier this year. But, the recoil of this gun is very manageable. I was surprised at how controllable this gun was to shoot. And the cool thing about this particular 9x25 Dillon, is that it was built with a second upper that allows you to shoot 40S&W.

The Rogers "Super-Stoc" for the AR15 Rifle (Mapul CTR Killer ?)

In my constant search for the next best thing for my AR15 that looks both cool and has great features, I find myself at odds since I lack the desire to spend exorbitant amounts of money for these items. While on a recent trip I stumbled into a local gunshop that had the Rogers Super Stock for $50. I had seen articles written on this stock in Front Sight Magazine (a USPSA production) and it seemed pretty cool. After seeing it first hand and for the $50 price tag (searching the internet shows that it goes for around $75). I decided to get it. I think the coolest thing about this stock is the fact that it fits both the commercial buffer tubes and the milspec tubes. This is a great feature in itself if you have multiple rifles with a mix of buffer tube systems.

Cleaning Your Handgun (The Quick and Dirty Method)

I've fielded lots of questions about my 38 super and how to take it apart. So in this video I go over the basic dis-assembly of my Open Division pistol for cleaning. I'll go into a much more detailed video on how to disassemble and reassemble the internal parts of the 2011 lower in another video. In this video I show a very basic cleaning that I do for most of my pistols, especially during a multi-day shooting match.

Depending on where you shoot, the environment can play havoc on your pistols. So when I shoot a match that I want to try and do my best at, I do everything I can to keep my gun clean. In most cases a typical gun cover for your holster will be just fine. But in extreme weather conditions I will bag my gun in between stages when I am not shooting.

Is Wolf and other Steel Cased Ammo Damaging your AR15 ?

There is lots of talk about steel cased ammo like Wolf causing damage to your rifle with that super hard steel case when compared to brass. I personally think there maybe something else at hand. I read a great article in USPSA's May/June 2011 publication of "Front Sight" magazine. The article titled "Steel Core Ammo: Fact and Fiction" was written by Eric Jay Miller and is the basis for my video below. Eric explores the concerns of Bimetal bullets and the possible damage of your rifling's.

Below are a few pictures of the 3 types of bi-metal ammunition I used in this video. The close up pictures clearly show the thin copper layer as compared to the Hornady bullet that I pulled from my ammo purchased from Parabellum Research www.pbrammo.com

Shooting & Moving (Security Guard Shoots it out with Assailants)

How many times do you get to shoot and move at the public ranges? Never. This is a good example of why you should try and get out and shoot an IDPA or IPSC match. These matches are one of the few places that actually encourage this type of shooting... minus the guys trying to kill you obviously...

Bresser TrueView Konig 1-4x24 Scope REVIEW

Bresser also makes other scopes in addition to the Konig I used on my rifle. The optics are just as clear in my opinion on their other scopes.
Bresser Rifle Scope Konig Rifle Scope (1.5-6x, 42 mm)

As I mentioned in the video, Bresser makes a fairly low cost range finder. There are not that many out there for around $100. My only complaint about this range finder is that the aiming reticle is kinda big if you want to range something 200 or more yards away. But for my purposes, it works just fine. Especially for the price point.

Shooting the STI Spartan in an Indoor Range (45ACP)

I caught some magnificent fireballs from some of my hand loads when shooting the STI Spartan in an Indoor range. The bullets are 200grain Berry's Plated, with about 6.9 grains of Unique.
